August 8 – Community Movie Night, Wasa

The Wasa Recreation Society is hosting their first summer family movie night. The show will be a family orientated movie and the event will provide an opportunity for locals and visitor families to gather. The show will give exposure to the Community Hall and the Society hopes to have 20 families attend.

August 8-9 – Wapiti Music Festival, Fernie

Fernie’s summer iconic celebration, transforms the serene riverside park nestled at the base of majestic mountains into an Canadian indie music haven. A family-friendly event.

August 8-10 – Nelson International Mural Festival

The 8th annual International mural festival celebrating public art and community.

August 9-10 – Columbia Basin Culture Tour

The 17th annual Columbia Basin Culture Tour invites participants to meet artists, shop, craft, view demonstrations and special exhibitions, and chat with local historians free of charge. The event takes place from August 9 -10, 2025, and features various venues in 31 participating communities.

The West Kootenay Kennel Club is celebrating their 50th Anniversary Dog Show and invite everyone to be entertained by hundreds of dogs in Castlegar, August 15 to 18, 2025.

Canal Flats music festival. A weekend of great music with great people, in a beautiful setting, focusing on enhancing positive community spirit and creating new friendships.

August 20 – Wednesday Social 2025, Fernie

The Wednesday Social is a free community arts & cultural festival, hosted by the Fernie & District Arts Council and held on Wednesdays in July and August. Each week has live music, art activities, food trucks & artisan market and beer garden.

August 24 – 2025 Summer Season of the Gold Fever Follies – YOURS TRULY, Rossland

Rossland Gold Fever Follies will host their 2025 theatre season throughout July and August at the historic Miner’s Hall, featuring local youth performers and showcasing a script written by a returning cast member.
