As your project proceeds, remember Trust staff is here to help you share news of your project announcements, milestones and its impact with people of the Basin. The following resources are a great place to start.
If you currently have a grant with the Trust, we appreciate this is an unusual time and that your project may be impacted. We’ll be flexible with all project deliverables and reporting timelines and are available to work with you to reschedule timelines as needed.

Email your Trust Contact
Make sure to include the following:
- Project Number found at the bottom of your Contribution Agreement
- An update about the Project and your current situation
- Your requests for changes or extensions
- Any contact updates we should know about
When you promote your Trust-supported project, initiative or event, acknowledge our contribution by mentioning the Trust on social media, on your website and in project-related promotional materials. By recognizing the Trust, you are educating the public on community initiatives and promoting grants and programs offered by the Trust.
The type of recognition you provide will depend upon the nature of your project but could include some or all of the following:
Stories, Photos and Video
Visuals and storytelling showcase the benefits your project and organization brings to the community. Digital photos, video, testimonials and stories help us share the impact of your project with people in the Basin.
Using these stories, photos and video on your website and social media will promote your projects further and if you mention or tag us, we can share your content with our social media followers as well.
Privacy is important to us, so ensure you have permission from all participants before sharing stories, photos and video publicly.
Acknowledge the Trust’s support by including our logo on project-related signage and promotional materials, both printed and/or digitally produced.
Acknowledgement statements can also be included on these materials along with the logo, if there is room. Two examples are:[Recipient] acknowledges the support of Columbia Basin Trust; or [Project Name] is made possible with support from Columbia Basin Trust.
News Releases and Announcements
If your organization is issuing a news release or making an announcement, reach out to Trust Communications. We are always interested in including a quote or organizational message to support your news release, and when possible send a representative from the Trust to attend project-related events and/or celebratory milestones.

Publications or Materials
When sharing news of the support your organization received from the Trust in organizational publications, such as annual reports or newsletters you may use our logo and the following description of the Trust:

The Trust encourages your organization to build awareness of projects and initiatives by being active on social media and creating project-related materials such as brochures, news releases, posters, newsletters are all ways your organization can share the impact of your work and recognize the contribution of the Trust.

“When Will I know if a grant application was successful?
It may take up to eight weeks after the application deadline to hear about the funding decisions.
When will I receive my contract?
It may take up to four weeks to receive your contract after you have been approved. It will be emailed to the contacts listed in your application.
How should I recognize the Trust?
If you’ve received a grant from us, please include our logo and acknowledge our contribution on project-related materials when possible. This includes websites, brochures, posters and news releases.
For example, you could say either of the following:
- (Recipient) acknowledges the support of Columbia Basin Trust.
- (Project Name) is made possible with funding from Columbia Basin Trust.
We also have plaques and stickers that you can place on physical infrastructure, and can work with you to customize a solution if you have other needs.
When will I receive payment of the grant?
Review your contract to see the payment schedule for your grant. You will receive an email notification when a payment cheque has been processed. The cheque will be mailed to the address of the legal entity for your Project.
How do I report on my project?
Review your contract to see the reporting schedule for your grant. The reporting templates may be found on the program page here or emailed to you with our final report reminder. Your project should be complete and all grant funding expended before you complete your final report.
My project has changed since it was approved. Is this acceptable?
We understand circumstances can change. No matter your issue, contact us as soon as possible to discuss the changes and determine the next steps. Find contact information by program here.
My project is taking longer than expected, what should I do?
Email us with an update on your progress and a request to extend the final report date.
If your program is delivered through the Trust, submit this form and we’ll reply to you as soon as possible.
