Columbia Basin Trust has released its 2025/26 Annual Service Plan Report. The Trust delivered $105 million in direct benefits across the Basin, including $81 million in grants and initiatives and $24 million invested through business loans, broadband infrastructure, commercial real estate and other investment activities.
Working with residents, non-profits, local governments, First Nations and businesses, the Trust supported 2,749 projects through 62 programs and initiatives, including 15 new initiatives aligned with the Trust’s Columbia Basin Management Plan 2024-2034.
“The achievements highlighted in this report belong to residents and communities throughout the Basin,” said Johnny Strilaeff, President and CEO of Columbia Basin Trust. “Our role is to manage the Trust’s assets responsibly so we can continue supporting the efforts of people and communities, now and for future generations.”
The Trust reported revenues of $113.6 million and an annual surplus of $42.6 million. Financial results included $42.4 million in gains on financial assets, primarily reflecting higher-than-usual realized gains from the sale of investment assets. While these gains are part of normal investment activity, results at this level are not expected to recur. Higher-than-expected revenues also enabled the Trust to increase funding for grants and initiatives to $80.7 million.
Residents are invited to hear more about the year’s results at the Trust’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 10 at 4:00 p.m. PT. The AGM will be held in person at the Prestige Mountain Resort in Rossland and online via Zoom. A free community BBQ with Trust staff and Board members will follow from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT at the Warfield Community Hall. Details are available at ourtrust.org/agm.
