Season 3 episodes will be available starting in the summer
Kootenay Mountain Culture Productions, in partnership with Columbia Basin Trust, is excited to announce that it will release the third season of The Headwaters podcast this summer. Initially launched in May 2022, The Headwaters has released 20 episodes to date, receiving a 5.0-star rating on Spotify, 4.8 on Apple Podcasts, and a lot of enthusiasm from its fast-growing listenership.
“It’s been fun to watch The Headwaters emerge as a captivating piece of Kootenay storytelling,” says Mitchell Scott of KMC Productions, who is also the host and executive producer of the podcast. “I’m constantly being asked if a season three is in the works, so it’s gratifying to finally let our listeners know that another 10 episodes are on the way.”
Upcoming topics include biking, caving, and survivalist adventures; ghost towns; young people with big dreams; and how the Columbia Basin is dealing with pressing issues, like wildfire and housing. Season three of The Headwaters picks up where seasons one and two left off—taking listeners on unexpected journeys into the stories, issues, and ideas that make the Kootenays so unique.
“Building on the success of seasons one and two, we’re excited to partner once again with the talented team at Kootenay Mountain Culture Productions for season three,” says Delphi Hoodicoff, executive director of communications at Columbia Basin Trust. “This season promises to share more unique and insightful stories about the incredible people and places that make this area exceptional.”
The Headwaters has been downloaded over 26,000 times to date, putting it in the top 25 per cent of active podcasts globally, amounting to a significant achievement for a regional podcast. The first three episodes of season three will launch this summer, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly. Catch up on past seasons at headwaterspodcast.com.
