Save the Date for the Columbia Basin Symposium

Residents from across the Columbia Basin are invited to discuss the future of energy at RE:Energize, the Columbia Basin Symposium, taking place May 6 to 8, 2027, at Selkirk College in Castlegar.

This free event will bring people together to examine the many ways energy powers homes, businesses and communities. Participants will explore the full story of energy—from where it comes from and how it reaches us, to how it can be used efficiently and reliably.

“People in the Basin are increasingly interested in energy, energy generation and local energy solutions, and the theme RE:Energize reflects that growing interest,” said Johnny Strilaeff, President and Chief Executive Officer, Columbia Basin Trust. “For more than 30 years, the Trust has hosted a symposium every few years as part of our commitment to engaging residents in meaningful dialogue. We look forward to bringing people together again next spring.”

The program will feature expert speakers, interactive sessions and opportunities to connect with others interested in the future of energy in the Basin.

Highlights include a Renewable Energy Expo and the Basin Renewable Energy Awards, recognizing local achievements in generation, innovation, efficiency and leadership. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the Arrow Lakes Generating Station, a hydropower facility jointly owned by the Trust and Columbia Power Corporation.

In addition, attendees will enjoy local food and live entertainment.

The Symposium is open to all residents of the Columbia Basin Trust region. Additional details, including registration information, will be announced in the coming months.
