Local Food Production and Access
People living in Basin communities told us that access to locally produced and processed healthy food is vital to them. The Trust is working with Basin producers and processors across the Basin to meet local demand, increase market access, reduce food waste and support climate resilience strategies for local food production. The Trust offers grants and programs that support local food production and access.
In addition to these grants and programs, the Trust supports an Agriculture Advisor, Kootenay & Boundary Farm Advisors, Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program, Young Agrarians, and the Basin Food & Buyer Expo.
