Recharge Program
The Recharge Program supports non-profit housing societies to install solar photovoltaic arrays on existing affordable rental housing buildings in the Columbia Basin to help maintain affordability and meet the challenges of climate change.
The Recharge Program is a Columbia Basin Trust initiative and is delivered by BC Non-Profit Housing Association and BC Housing.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include registered non-profit organizations that:
- operate affordable housing in the Columbia Basin
- are in good standing with the BC Registry Services
- operate an eligible affordable housing building developed between 2013 and 2021.
Individuals, unregistered organizations, or private businesses are not eligible to apply.

- If you would like to work offline, download the Application Worksheet. This is optional and cannot be used as your application.
- Email BasinERP@bcnpha.ca or call 1.778.736.2258 if you have questions or to discuss your project idea.
- Complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) online Application Form.
Deadline to Apply
This program follows a two-stage application process:
- The EOI deadline has been extended to June 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 p.m. MT.
- If selected to move forward you will hear from the Trust by July 15, 2024, and applicants will be invited to develop a full application with support and guidance from BCNPHA.
