This program, created in partnership with the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program, helps protect and enhance fish, wildlife and habitats in and around Koocanusa Reservoir and its tributaries in the Kootenay River system.
This program addresses the Kootenay River drainage and its associated tributaries within Canada, including the Elk, Bull, St. Mary’s, Lussier, White and Wigwam rivers and the Koocanusa Reservoir itself. View the region here.
- It does not include the Kootenay River as it re-enters Canada in the Creston and Kootenay Lake area, as this area is already served by the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program.
- It also does not include the Flathead River Basin in Canada.
