Basin residents of all ages deserve opportunities to learn about the region they live in and be inspired to take care of it. In addition to supporting a variety of education and awareness projects through our Environment Grants, we also support these four programs:
- Education in the Wild: Delivered by Wildsight, this program helps teachers provide hands-on outdoor learning opportunities for students.
- Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network: This network aims to strengthen environmental education initiatives, stewardship and sustainability in the Basin by connecting environmental educators and organizations. It also delivers Wild Voices for Kids, which teaches students about the land, history and culture of the Basin.
- Know Your Watershed: Delivered by Wildsight, this hands-on program helps grade eight students understand where their water comes from, how it is used and where it goes after it is used. Learn more in this video.
- WildSafe BC: Delivered by the BC Conservation Foundation, this program helps communities provide residents with educational tools and information to decrease human-wildlife conflicts.
