The Trust’s wage subsidy programs, with support from College of the Rockies, could support your business to hire a employee, such as a student, an apprentice or recent graduate.

The School Works Program provides wage subsidies to employers to help them hire full-time students on part-time basis throughout the school year.

The School Works: Apprentice Wage Subsidy provides a wage subsidy to businesses, non-profits or First Nations communities, and local governments in the Columbia Basin to meet their employment needs.

The School Works: Co-op Wage Subsidy provides wage subsidies to employers in the Basin region to help them hire post-secondary students enrolled in full-time education and participating in a recognized university or college co-op education program.

The Summer Works Program provides small businesses with a wage subsidy to hire full-time high school and post-secondary students during the school summer break.

Our Career Internship Program provides eligible employers with up to 50 per cent of an intern’s salary (up to $25,000 over a seven to 12 month term) for full-time, career-focused positions that lead to permanent employment.

The Food Producer and Processor Career Internship Program is designed to financially support employers with retaining an emerging professional who demonstrates a commitment to a career in local food production/processing.

The Basin Food Producer Wage Subsidy Program provides support to primary food producers in the Basin. The program will provide flexibility to farmers to hire employees as needed throughout the 2021 growing and harvesting season.

The Early Echildhood Educator Wage Subsidy Program helps strengthen the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) workforce by providing a $2 hour wage subsidy to enhance the wages of eligible ECEs employes by licensed child care facilities in the Columbia Basin Trust region.
