Small Community Wildfire Readiness Support

With the changing climate, wildfire continues to be one of the greatest risks to Basin communities. The Small Community Wildfire Readiness Support program helps small and First Nations communities in the Basin plan and prepare for wildfires through wildfire prevention and protection equipment, training courses and planning assessments.

Eligible applicants include First Nations communities, registered non-profit organizations, legally incorporated society-run fire departments and brigades and local governments representing small and remote communities in the Basin region.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until all funding for the program has been committed. Incomplete applications will not be considered until all missing information is provided. Staff may contact you to discuss your application, and applicants will typically be notified of a decision within three weeks.
