Trust Photo Contest

This year, our photo contest will consist of five weekly themes.

These include:

• Anything Goes – time to get creative and to post whatever feels right.
• Community in the Basin – time to show off your hometown or the people within it.
• The Basin Wildlife and Furry Friends – showcase the spectacular wildlife in the Basin as well as our furry companions enjoying the outdoors.
• The Basin Lifestyle – this theme will consist of showing off your hobbies and how you like to utilize this beautiful region, promoting what “your basin life” looks like.
• The Basin Outdoors – landscape photos of the basin region in all its natural glory. Outdoor shots from all seasons.

Unlike previous years, submissions will only be taken through Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag #basin2023. The finalists will be selected internally and announced on Instagram and Facebook following the closing of the contest.

Instagram and Facebook followers will have the ability to vote between the finalists to select the winners of the contest.

Updates regarding the contest will be posted on Instagram and Facebook, so keep an eye on these platforms to stay in the loop.

1. Entries will be accepted on Instagram and Facebook during the relevant week.
2. There will be 14 winners in total.
3. The finalists will be selected by the Trust and announced on Instagram and Facebook.
4. The winners will be selected by a voting system on Instagram and Facebook stories.
5. Contest is exclusive to Basin residents. Proof of address may be required.
6. This contest is not sponsored by or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
7. Each winner will receive $200.
8. Winners will be asked to sign a photo release form agreeing that Columbia Basin Trust may use their image.

By entering the contest you are indicating you have read the Privacy Policy and are accepting the practices described in the privacy policy. The personal information submitted by contest winner, and subsequent submissions is collected under the authority of section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), and will be used by Columbia Basin Trust for administrative and evaluative purposes relating to this contest. Week Five

Anything goes (July 26 – August 2) – This week is all about getting creative. Post your beautiful pictures of the winter aurora, a weekend camping trip, or a representation of your cultural roots. It’s up to you now.

Week Four

Community in the Basin (July 20 – July 26) – this week is all about celebrating community. Show off your community in the basin through highlighting what life looks like in yours.

Week Three

The Basin Outdoors (July 12 – July 19) – this week will put the natural beauty of the basin on display. Share your photos of the scenic surroundings of the basin from all four seasons. 

Week Two

Furry Friends and Wildlife (July 5 – July 12) – this week will showcase the furry friends of people who live in the Basin as well as animals enjoying nature around the basin.

Week One

The Basin Lifestyle (June 29 – July 5) – this week will consist of showing off your hobbies and how you like to explore this beautiful region, promoting what “your basin life” looks like.

• Each winner will receive a guaranteed prize of $200. However, a feature in the calendar is not guaranteed.
• This year the Trust is prioritizing amateur photographers and will take this into consideration when selecting the winners.
• This contest is not associated with Instagram.
